Staff Accountant

Purpose: 

Responsible for assigned areas of financial process and selected general ledger accounts.

Job Functions:

1. Assist in the regular account analysis and reconciliation
2. Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and other packages for investors, lenders and management
3. Collaborate closely with other accounting departments
4. Collaborate on ad-hoc or recurring project teams to prepare various analysis for enhancement of the business
5. Analyze to see patterns of weakness or exposure to error, diagnose the issues, design and implement process improvements to address weaknesses or other opportunities
6. Plan & execute to meet monthly deadlines for month-end closing of financial statements

Working Conditions and Physical Demands: 

Position will work directly from the corporate office.  Candidate must have the flexibility to occasionally work overtime, including weekends. 

Qualifications:

1. Must have a 4 year college degree in Accounting.
2. At least 5 years of total work experience
3. Prefer experience with Dynamics GP (Great Plains) and FRx reporting software
4. Prefer real estate experience with high volume contractual business with recurring revenue
5. Strong working knowledge of financial accounting
6. Strong working knowledge of Excel, Pivot Tables, Word and PowerPoint
7. Familiarity with auditing requirements and approach
8. Ability to work in fast-paced, high-growth changing environment
9. Ability to balance need for discipline with flexibility
10. Ability to identify "what matters" or makes a difference
11. Team-oriented, and self motivated, inquisitive
12. Interest & knowledge of how overall business works - operations, financing etc
13. Analytical and critical thinking skills
