Macquarie has one of the largest dedicated specialist fund management teams in the world, with more than 700 professionals in its Macquarie Capital Funds division managing over 100 businesses in 25 countries. The consortium of Macquarie funds invested in Global Tower Partners includes Macquarie Infrastructure Partners (“MIP”) and Macquarie Infrastructure PartnersII (“MIP II”) who together hold an 84.9% stake in GTP. MIP and MIP II are unlisted funds, each of which seeks to assemble diversified portfolios of infrastructure assets and other assets with similar characteristics based in North America. MIP I and MIP II have collectively raised more than US$4 billion from investors in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
